Although Markham does not currently have any universities itself, there are local transit services that connect to York University, Ryerson University, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, McMaster University and the University of Toronto, as well as to Toronto campuses of Seneca College, Centennial College, George Brown College, Humber College and The Michener Institute, along with Durham College and Sheridan College.
Many students from these fine schools have graduated and pursued the exciting career opportunities available to them in Markham. Some graduates work in the medical field as nurses or technicians while others became lawyers and work for the Canada Trademark office. Many have also gone on to work as a fashion designer for retail companies or are employed in the tool industry building steel benders.
