Markham Fair
Makham fair is an annual event hosted by the Markham and East York agricultural society. Markham Fair is one of Canada oldest country fairs. There are over 670 volunteers working on more than 70 committees, making Markham Fair the largest community based volunteer organization in Canada. On the weekend before Thanksgiving, about 3,000 exhibitors will enter more than 12,000 items, which will be judged and put on display during the fair. As well as the competitive displays, other events during the fair include the horse pull, demolition derby, tractor pull, midway rides and displays of farm animals.
Markham Village Music Festival
The Markham Village Music Festival started in 1978, and has always taken place on the third weekend of June in Markham Village. The Markham Village Music Festival obviously revolves around music! Whether your taste is jazz, bluegrass, rock n roll, bigband, classical, world or country, you'll find something to enjoy. You may also find dancers, jugglers, clowns and much more. You'll also find paintings and sculptures, to flower pots and jewellery from artists. There's something for everyone at the Markham Village Music Festival.
